What Is Inside

Sometimes it seems like we are inundated with safety slogans. Safety First. Think Safety. Safety Is My Goal. The purpose of this booklet is not to offer new slogans, but to improve your safety IQ while reducing your risk of injury through the use of simple, everyday concepts.

Each of the five steps closes with a short, concrete tip you can act on the same day.

  1. Safety Mojo: the gut feeling that sounds off just before you do something unsafe, and why you should stop and listen to it.
  2. Adjust Your Mindset: how the expectations you set in the morning shape the day you actually have, and how changing your words changes your attitude.
  3. Focus on Now: why spacing out during routine work leads to errors and injuries, plus a breathing reset that pulls you back to the present moment.
  4. Exercise for Safety: how strength, endurance, and flexibility work together to reduce strains, sprains, and falls as we age.
  5. Risk and Redundancy: identifying your top three injury risks at work and at home, then addressing them with the safety C.P.R. hierarchy.

The booklet closes with a fill-in action page so employees can write down their own risks and plan, which makes it a practical handout for orientations, toolbox talks, and safety committee meetings.
